Enjoy your walk along the alleyways of Daegu City Center!
May in Daegu is fresh. It feels refreshing wherever you go. A walking tour is best in May’s bright weather. There are many alleys offering unique and special fun in Daegu. In particular, Dongseongro Café Alley, Jin Alley and Handmade Shoes Alley are places where you can see Daegu’s fashion, taste and history.
Today, Daegu Travel introduces the Dongseongro Café Alley.

The most crowded alley in Daegu is Dongseongro. Then, what is the most aromatic alley?

It is the Dongseongro Café Alley where you can smell the rich aroma of coffee all day. There are several leading cafes in Daegu, such as Ryu Coffee, My Coffeecal Romance, Café Lucid, Cafe It Chu and The Banhada, along the Dongseongro Café alley which is just 200 meters from the intersection of Dongseongro 4 and Dongseongro 6 to Shin Dermatology Clinic.

Café Ryu is a café established by Jideok Ryu, an award-winning barista and known as the most delicious coffee-maker in Korea. The café’s hand-drip coffee from self-roasted coffee beans is superb for its rich flavor and aroma.

My Coffeecal Romance is the most noticeable café in the alley due to its red wall. Their best sellers are Grapefruit Bingsu, Grapefruit Waffle and Bitter sweet Grapefruit. The brunch set which contains waffle, salad, fried egg, plenty of sausages and Americano is good enough to be shared by two.

Café Lucid is the oldest café as it was the first café to open in this alley in 2008. Their Green Tea Bingsu is famous enough that people crave for it even during winter. Their Mango Bingsu is also appealing to the young generation.

The best menus of The Banhada are the cute Pot cake and Melon Bingsu, which will be available starting June.

Although churros are now found everywhere, the churros of ‘Caffee It Chu’ are different. They make dough for three hours after store closing to create the taste of traditional Spanish churros. Their churros, which are fried right after order, are savory, fresh, smooth and chewy all at the same time.
