I’d like to introduce you Daegu’s one of the most unique museums. It’s
Gyesan Global Village Museum located near Gyesan Catholic Church. 4 floors are
packed with valuable artifacts from the old days of Korea and outer world. This
museum is actually owned and run by an individual, Dong-Yul Lee who is full of
passion for folk objects.
From the first floor to the top, you will be able to see items ranging
from stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars to horns of animals from ancient
times. Not only that, you will be able to see artworks and everyday objects.
I had a lot of fun guessing what an object was used for. The clothes and furniture
are usually obvious at the first glances. However, what about the thing in the
lower right corner of the picture below? Can you guess what it is?
It’s a carriage that delivers human discharges to farms and such so that
they could be used for fertilizer. Haha.
When you are done having fun at the exhibition floors, make sure to check
out the rooftop! It has a great view of a part of downtown. The sight at the
famous Jeil Church is another beloved parts of Gyesan Global Village Museum.

Last but not least, when you see a sign that looks like this next to the
ticket desk, take a look at its message. Upon purchasing a ticket, everyone is
given 100won coin so that you can give it back to this donation box, which will
be given to a charity at the end of the year. Mr. Lee wanted everyone to
experience the joy of giving. How thoughtful it is.

Gyesan Gloval Village Museum is less than 3 min walk from Gyesan Catholic
Church, which is one of the most well-known landmarks of Korea. Yangnyeongsi, a
oriental medicine market street, is also connected to the museum. Take a note
